Central Bank of Malta

Conducted a full in-depth 360o assessment of IT Governance, IT Management and IT Security for an ECB National Central Bank, fully leveraging a number of standards including Basel II, COBIT, CMMI, ISO 17799, PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) and PRINCE/2 to complete a comprehensive review of IT operations and management practices.  Overall recommendations comprised of changes to IT, structure and business processes and were approved by the Board of Directors.

Proposed an overarching Business Application Architecture for the Bank and are now working with key leaders within the Bank to support its implementation. Enabling the teams to define their requirements, adapt their ways of working and internal processes as well as supporting the procurement process for the Bank’s major business applications.

In addition, led the implementation of a bank-wide Business Planning Process to align the bank’s projects and initiatives to its overall strategic objectives. The process, which is now in place, fully engaged the management team, sourced bottom-up structured inputs for bank projects and then, working with the executive team coordinated the prioritization, staging and resourcing of initiatives.

As advisors and consultants to the Governor of the Bank, led the process of organizational restructuring including full organization re-design, role definitions, job descriptions process of staff engagement as well as communication. Required a deep understanding of the Bank’s functions, roles and requirements – the process touched on all levels of the Bank from Director down to clerical level.

Continue to be actively and extensively engaged by this client across a number of enterprise-wide activities focused on planning, process, HR and technology.
